My SEO/GEO deals: RankerFox, Noxtools, Semrush, One Hour Indexing

Pro SEO tools are expensive: more than €100 a month for a single Semrush subscription. When you're launching small projects, that's not sustainable. Here's how I do it, what actually works, and what you should know before paying.

Start with the free tools

Before paying for anything, the free official tools already do a lot:

• Google Search Console and its API, to see whether each page is indexed;
• Bing Webmaster Tools and its API, with the import from Search Console;
• IndexNow, to notify Bing and the others in one request;
• the Impeccable detector, for design.

Paid tools are mostly for two things: knowing what people really search for, and seeing what competitors do.

RankerFox

RankerFox is a "group buy": a subscription that gives access to dozens of paid SEO and marketing tools, for much less than the official licenses. Mine includes Semrush Pro and One Hour Indexing.

The trial gives limited access to a selection of tools: check what's included before counting on a specific one. A refund is possible within 7 days.

Noxtools

Noxtools works the same way as RankerFox, but bigger: more than 60 SEO tools, including Ahrefs and Semrush. It has more in it, but it costs more. I couldn't check their prices as I write this: look directly on noxtools.com.

My advice: start with RankerFox. Move to Noxtools only if you're missing a specific tool, Ahrefs for example.

Semrush Pro

It's the tool that helps me most in deciding what to write. I use it to see the keywords people really type, the ones my competitors rank for, and the sites that link to them. That's often where I find the idea for a new page.

One Hour Indexing

It's mostly for getting pages you don't control discovered, like an article on another site that mentions you. For my own pages, I use it on top of the official tools, on the ones Google doesn't know yet. Two tips:

• only submit clean pages: they respond, have no noindex, and a self-referencing canonical. Otherwise it's wasted;
• spread out submissions (for example 100 links a day) rather than all at once, it gives you time to see what gets indexed.

And no tool will get a page indexed that Google has read and judged too thin. Then it's the content you need to rework.

What about GEO?

To get cited by ChatGPT or Perplexity, I paid nothing: being on Bing, letting their crawlers through, an llms.txt. It's all detailed in post 2. Semrush still helps here: the questions people type into Google are often the same ones they ask AI. It's a good source for choosing which pages to write.

What to know about group buys

I'd rather be clear: it's handy for testing without going broke, but these shared accesses often go against the tools' terms, and access can stop overnight. Don't build your business on it. The day a tool becomes essential, get the real license.
